The man RS saved many soccer player in UK unfortunately Paul Lake Manchester City player was misdiagnosed in England. He had poor surgeons Eventually went to a USA doc It was too late LOved to see that documentary Thin Line Looking for it now
I remember like it was yesterday
I can absolutely not blame him for wanting back on the skis ASAP, despite his many injuries. I'm an avid recreational skier. I have the app ski-tracks on my phone. It tracks your speed (max-speed, average speed etc). My record so far is 90 km/h; these guys go 140 km/h or more. The rush you get when flying down the slopes is an absolute thrill. The dopamine and adrenalin rush is better than you ever can imagine. It's like a drug, like an addiction.
Carres affûtées obligatoire ! Merci les préparateurs...

my oh my ... i saw him win on TV and it was so exciting .... and watching this today is still exciting to see !
If you can afford it….
Local is lucky
Damn. Pre jump crash @ 95. Skies looked like rubber bands. Hell of a run.
Ian Wooldridge, the great English sports journalist, said this was the greatest sport's performance he ever saw.
I was 18 in 1976 and also watched this live. At that point I’d never skied, but still realized what a spectacular achievement this was. I’d differ a bit with the concluding narrative of this video however: he was nowhere near in “complete control”. He was right on the edge of control most of the way down. Fabulous!
You can tell he is the perfect type of person to downhill! He did have a great run going. Shame.
I was 16yrs old back in 76 and remember watching this live on TV and I thought then as I do now that it was the greatest downhill run I’d ever seen. Thank you for the memories Franz Klammer the GOAT.
I was 11 in 1976 and also remember watching this on T.V. Incredible moment.
Franz is a man Trump not so much he’s a weak ineffectual fool bent on exploiting the weak minded people
Great short docu. Love this race. Best of the season for the men!
I had the pleasure of skiing with Franz at Mount Hutt in July and August 1983 on the South Island of New Zealand. We were both there for the FIS competition. He's truly a great athlete.
Кламер - это Кламер!!! Он и на карвах всё идеально пишет. Всё настолько естественно, что всегда можно стремиться к идеалу!!! Анатолий Мыльников.
I love my Mikaela Shiffrin. She's my fearless queen. I love Mikaela Shiffrin and Lindsey Vonn both USA slalom skiers
Can we please have the winter Olympics back in a traditional skiing country again?
Konig Franz is my myth!
Love to listen to his explanation ... 'this is the winning run' ... 👍🏾
Pero no entiendo,... Estos atletas de Ski,,,NO TIENEN CUERPO DE ATLETA ( COMO LOS DE CARRERS DE 100 METROS )....UNA CAIDA A 100KILOMETROS X HORAS ...Y SE SACAN LA MIERDA...Y EL CUERPO TU LOS VWZ TODOS AGUAITOS... es vez de estar rigidos llenos de musculos. .
GOAT.
I watched live, Klammer win the gold in '76. He inspired me to become a skier. My first time up I tucked and bombed it! Thanks for the memories.
It is amazing and inspiring that both Wengen and Kitzbuhel still challenge the best skiers in the world after so many decades. The mountains will always demand and deserve respect.
As they say about dough, she has risen -- to the top!
Красавица
Let it all hang out! TUCK AND ROLL, NO FEAR. MAMA HERE I COME., legs don't fail me now! LOL SWANK AN SWOOSH BABY!
They talk about his controlled race line, believe me, there was no control just a wild way to survive the conditions at that speed. Legend and Genius
Ever since I've been into downhill, this is my favorite course. A lot of my ski friends have heard of " The Strief" but when I bring up " Lauberhorn" or " Wengen", I get blank stares.
Then, they don't know much about skiing... as much as I know about cricket, I guess!😉
Good luck to this guy, take care of yourself
5:05 fcukin badass
Best race ever... And Phil nailed it he is a super good guy... Just like the twins 😁😎👍🏻👍🏻
😱
I am 11 years old and I was skiing but I could t slow down fast enoguh and I slammed into a brick wall. Here are the symptoms: Short term. 1: bloody nose 2: hurting back 3: shock 4: pain, lots of pain Effects right now. 1: bump on head 2: cut on nose 3: sore knees
"The Energy of downhill is Kitzbuhel ~ the Essence of Downhill, is Wengen" ⛷️♥️⛷️
interesting story, but this guy is such a db, and exaggerator.. makes for a fun story
E magica 💪💪💪💪
He did my right knee acl back in 81. Still serving me perfectly.
okay, that looks tough.
The freakin man
You can hit a rut at anytime and this can happen to anyone. Has almost happened to me several times. At those speeds it is much harder to recover. I did but was at 1/3 his speed.
I stubbed my toe this morning..it hurt a lot
This guy can weave a tale
There was an air of jealousy in the way that AXXX said won 4 times cus he is not gud enuf
Best ski racer in the world ...
Think I had one season of downhill races and the jumps made me finally say "yeah I need to get out of racing before I crash on one of these"
Bernhard Russi was such a class act as well.....Great guy..
